5 Best Premier League Kits of All Time 5 Best Premier League Kits of All Time

The Premier League has given us incredible goals, legendary players… and some absolutely unforgettable shirts. It’s been 34 seasons, but five shirts stand out from the thousands of jerseys that have graced the competition since its inception in 1992. Let’s rank the five best Premier League kits of all time!

Arsenal 1991/93 (Away)

The legendary “Bruised Banana” shirt is arguably the most iconic jersey from the 90s. Featuring a dark, zigzag pattern over an electric yellow base, this kit was simply different. It’s safe to say that Arsenal’s 1991/93 away kit was ahead of its time. The Adidas jersey remained active for two seasons (91/92 and 92/93).

Manchester United 1995/96 (Away)

This grey kit may be loved by many, but it’s definitely despised by Sir Alex Ferguson. The former United coach blamed the Umbro shirt for poor visibility and retired it mid-season. Whether he was right or not doesn’t matter, because we can all agree that Manchester United’s 1995/96 away kit looks fantastic. Minimalist, clean, and completely different from anything else at the time, this shirt has become a cult favourite.

Liverpool 2019/20 (Home)

Liverpool won their first-ever Premier League title wearing a red jersey adorned with golden details. The Reds’ home kit for that season was created by New Balance and included white, vertical pinstripes. It stuck with the traditional colors but had a modern look and feel. The insignia on the back of the neck paid tribute to legendary manager Bob Paisley, marking what would have been his 100th birthday.

Chelsea 1995/97 (Away)

The Chelsea 1995-97 away kit, designed by Umbro, is a classic known for having a striking graphic design and vibrant colors. Its yellow base, blue vertical stripes, and retro polo-style collar represent a pivotal era for the club. This one gives off the confident and unapologetic energy of the mid-90s Premier League.

Arsenal 2005/06 (Home)

Worn in Arsenal’s final season at Highbury, this burgundy beauty was a tribute to the club’s roots. Every Gunner, young or old, has a vivid image of Thierry Henry sporting the long-sleeve version of this kit. Nike replaced the traditional bright red with a deep redcurrant, accented with gold piping. The darker shade gave it a vintage elegance, and paired with that iconic stadium farewell, it became instantly timeless.
