11 Best La Liga Kits of All Time

Throughout history, La Liga has been home to some of the greatest players of all time and one of the most intense rivalries in European football. But also, the Spanish league has produced some of the sport's most iconic kits in history. Here’s our ranking of the best La Liga kits of all time.

1. Atlético Madrid 1995/96 Home Kit

The kit featured Atletico’s traditional red and white stripes with a red polo collar and blue details on the famous “Marbella” sponsor. Designed by Puma, the kit is made more iconic by the club’s LaLiga and Copa del Rey triumph under manager Radomir Antić.

2. Rayo Vallecano 2013/14 Home Kit

Erreà drew inspiration from the club’s retro white design and the red diagonal sash. It has red accents on its polo collar and sleeve cuffs and is paired with white shorts and socks with matching red details.

3. Barcelona 1995–97 Away Kit 

Famously worn by Pep Guardiola, Luis Figo, and Ronaldo De Lima during his legendary, Ballon d'Or-winning 1996-97 season, the turquoise blue kit features subtle geometric ghost graphics and a lapel collar. It was designed by Kappa.

4. Real Madrid 1994/95 Home Kit

The kit by Kelme has the club’s traditional white base with purple accents. With a subtle paw print pattern across the sleeves and the “Teka” sponsor logo on the chest, the club wore the Kelme-designed kit en route to their La Liga triumph.

5. Barcelona 1991/92 Away Kit

Exceptional for being a symbol of Johan Cruyff’s “Dream Team” season when the team lifted its first European Cup, the jersey has an orange base. Manufactured by Meyba, the base is complemented with red geometric zigzag detail on the sleeves and a blue V-neck collar.

6. Rayo Vallecano 2015/16 Away Kit

The kit features a black base with a striking rainbow sash that runs from the left shoulder down to the right hem. With a black crew neck collar and sky blue sleeve cuffs, the kit was designed by Kelme in honour of the society’s unsung heroes and to support social causes.

7. Barcelona 1999/00 Home Kit

The kit was designed by Nike to celebrate the club's centenary anniversary from 1899 to 1999. It features a bold half-and-half split of Barcelona’s red and blue colours with dark navy raglan sleeves and a navy fold-over collar. 

8. Real Betis 2019/20 Home Kit

The design features an increase in the club’s traditional green-and-white vertical stripes from 13 to 19 on the front and lower back, making them appear thinner. Kappa also added a single-button polo collar and the brand’s Omini taping running down the sleeves.

9. Sevilla 1993/94 Home Kit

Sevilla wore a white jersey during the 1993/94 season with red paint splatter running across the upper shoulder on one side to the upper chest on the other. Manufactured by Hot Shot, the jersey has white sleeves and a collar with a red stripe around the cuffs.

10. Real Madrid 2016/17 Away Kit

A tribute to the “Quinta del Buitre” squads of the 1980s, the Adidas design comes in a vibrant purple base with crisp white accents. The kit was worn in Madrid’s 4-1 UCL final victory against Juventus in 2017.

11. Alavés 2021/22 Home Kit

The kit is a call back to the club’s retro kits from the 1920s, coming in a distinct half-and-half split in blue and white. Kelme designed the sleeves and fold-over collar with blue on one side and white on the other, with cuffs having blue and white details.
